Alamo Consultores, a technology company specialized in SAP consulting services, found in Odoo a solution to centralize the management of its internal operations. In a context of growth and diversification, the company adopted Odoo to integrate key processes such as ticket management, projects, and timesheets, as well as CRM. This article explores how they moved from scattered tools to a more structured and traceable operation, and the key takeaways from their implementation.
About the Company

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Buenos Aires, Alamo Consultores is a technology company primarily focused on SAP-related services, including support and project execution. With a team of approximately 50 people, the company also offers complementary solutions, including demand planning tools, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and technology integrations and AI.
Throughout its evolution, Alamo has worked across multiple industries—from retail and mining to energy, food, and heavy industry, which has allowed it to develop a broad and flexible understanding of business needs.
Its value proposition is based on its ability to integrate diverse technological solutions tailored to the client’s context, combining technical expertise with a consultative approach.
"We are a technology company whose main focus is SAP, but we work with multiple complementary tools."
A Need for Greater Integration Before Odoo

Before adopting Odoo, Alamo Consultores operated with a combination of tools that were not fully integrated. Accounting was managed with external software, while much of the day-to-day operations (including project tracking and task management) relied on spreadsheets and other repositories.
.
This approach created limitations in data traceability and in consolidating key information for decision-making. The lack of integration led to manual processes, especially when cross-referencing data between areas such as projects, worked hours, and invoicing.
“Much of the management was handled through spreadsheets, complemented in a limited way with SharePoint as an information repository.”
From Scattered Solutions to a Centralized
Odoo Ecosystem

The move toward Odoo stemmed from a specific need: finding a tool that could manage tickets linked to worked hours and their subsequent invoicing. During this process, they also identified a lack of a well-structured CRM.
Odoo emerged as the solution capable of unifying these requirements within a single system. Through a joint implementation between the internal team and Odoo support, the company began centralizing multiple processes on one platform.
One of the main uses of Odoo at Alamo Consultores is industrial project management, in which the company manages both support services (AMS) and standalone projects. This separation allows for better structuring of operations and clearer tracking of each type of work.
At the same time, the Helpdesk became the core of ticket management. Each request is linked to worked hours, enabling direct traceability between the service delivered and invoicing. This approach improves operational control and facilitates the management of recurring services.
Cost traceability in Odoo is especially reflected in time tracking. Currently, the entire team logs their time on the platform, allowing the generation of monthly reports used for both internal control and billing. This change significantly reduced administrative time: processes that previously extended to mid-month can now be completed within the first week.
"We are a predominantly remote organization (between 80% and 90% of the team works virtually), so daily operations do not depend on a physical office, but on management tools that centralize work. Today, any operational process must be managed through Odoo."
The CRM integrated with invoicing also represented a major improvement. Previously, contacts arrived via email without structured follow-up. Now, website contact forms are directly integrated with Odoo, centralizing sales opportunities and preventing information loss. Additionally, opportunity tracking (previously a weak point) is now part of the operational workflow.
In the HR area, Odoo enables the management of employee and contractor information in a single place, including time allocation, personal data, and contractual conditions. Apps such as Time Off and Appraisals are also used to improve internal organization.
Finally, integration with the Documents app allows the company to connect existing repositories with Odoo and consolidate information without fully abandoning previous tools.
Alamo Consultores’ Future Growth with Odoo

At a strategic level, Alamo Consultores remains focused on growth and professionalization, with expansion plans beyond the Argentine market. Its participation in a global consulting network allows it to project international operations and collaborate with clients across different markets.
Regarding Odoo usage, the next key step is deeper integration. Currently, accounting and invoicing are still managed outside the system, but the company plans to incorporate them to achieve a fully centralized operation. They are also evaluating the implementation of additional features, such as multi-company management, and further exploring artificial intelligence capabilities.
"It’s clear where we need to go: having the entire operation within Odoo."
